How To Apply

Submitting a resume is the first step to apply for employment with the County of Riverside.

There are several ways to submit your resume:

  • On-line
    • Submit Your Resume (Copy & paste prepared information, or create your resume on-the-spot.) 
    • Job Openings "Apply" (Allows you to create an account & password to retain your resume for the future.)
  • E-mail
    Send your resume to through the contact information listed on a specific posted position. Please ensure that your resume is Microsoft Word (.doc) or text (.txt) document, or included in the body of the email message.

Remember to keep an updated resume on file with the County of Riverside to be eligible for all positions for which you qualify. If you are not familiar with all the positions employed within the County of Riverside you can view our list of Job Descriptions.

Jobs Requiring Testing

Some county positions require testing. For some tests, you may need to contact a recruiter directly, via resume, cover letter or e-mail. Our Assessment Center offers skill testing by appointment on a regular basis. Job postings will contain additional information on required testing. Please review our Testing & Scores page for more information.

  
Medical Standards

In order to protect the safety of Riverside County employees and the public, all employment offers are contingent upon fulfillment of established medical standards for the position. A pre-employment physical examination, including drug and alcohol testing, is required. Candidates who refuse to submit to testing will be disqualified.

  
Interview and Selection

If you are among the most highly qualified candidates and interested in a current opening, you will be invited to participate in a competitive interview process.

  
Resumes

Resumes are considered current for one year. Choose a date to reactivate your resume annually to make sure it is always available and that your information is up to date. Resumes older than one year are not considered current and could result in missed employment opportunities. Once you are hired or promoted with the County, your resume status automatically changes to inactive; if you wish to remain eligible for open positions, please submit an updated resume.
