CRA - Employment Search Tools

The Career Resource Area (CRA) in the Indio Workforce Development Center is operated by by the Riverside County Economic Development Agency and the State of California Employment Development Department.  The CRA is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Telephone the Workforce Center at:  760-86.3-2500, or 800-803-WORK. for further information.  The following services are available to members of the public who enroll for job search assistance:  

 

Computer ServiceA network of computers allows individuals to compose resumes and general job search correspondence. Computers may also be used for typing practice and testing typing speed. Software program specific tutorials are available on designated computers for use by the public.

Internet Access
Job Search can be conducted using various websites, which provide information about available positions worldwide as well as locally. A comprehensive list of career related websites has been compiled to assist with job search and career exploration activities.

Telephones
A telephones are available for setting interview appointments with employers, conducting labor market surveys, and completing informational interviews.

Job Announcements
Postings from private businesses, city, state, federal, and public school organizations are available on bulletin boards and in job order books. Job books provide listings from various sources including local newspapers and private businesses. Books are updated on a weekly basis.

Fax/Mail Service
Resumes, follow-up letters, thank-you letters, and general job search correspondence are faxed on a scheduled basis throughout the day. All mail is posted at 11:00 a.m., each day.

Copy Services
Copies of job postings, resumes, and job search/career exploration materials can be completed on an as-needed basis.

Local Daily Newspapers
The Riverside Press-Enterprise and The Desert Sun, are available on a daily basis. Additional job search periodicals are available, including the Inland Empire Employment Weekly and the Job Guide.

Community Resources
Brochures, pamphlets, flyers, articles, and books are available regarding housing, childcare, safety, health, career research, job search, vocational training, and labor market information resources. 

Enrollee Service
Career Resource Area staff is available to assist enrollees with job search and career exploration activities.
