What’s Happening

County Human Resources asked employees, managers, and County leadership what they need and want in a new performance management system, and what about today’s methods of performance evaluations are not working well.

After analyzing the feedback, and participating in system demos with numerous vendors, Human Resources, in partnership with County departments, selected SumTotal Performance for the County’s new performance management system. Since SumTotal is already our COR Learning Management System (LMS), this will provide a fully integrated, modern learning and performance management system for the County.

Please reference timeline on the right for additional details.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why are we moving to a new platform?

Performance Management should not be a once-a-year meeting for managers to give feedback and complete employee evaluations to ensure policy compliance. The purpose of Performance Management is to improve the performance of our workforce to ensure County and departments’ strategic goals are met, if not exceeded, which requires a multi-faceted, systemic change. Our new SumTotal Performance Management System is one facet of the new performance management framework being implemented to successfully move the County of Riverside to a high-performing government organization.

Who do I contact if I have questions about this project?
